Workplace Accidents from a Psychological Perspective

Abstract

This paper aims to shed light on the phenomenon of workplace accidents from a psychological perspective. It begins by presenting various definitions related to the concept of workplace accidents, followed by an examination of the significance of studying them from a psychological standpoint. The paper then reviews the different classifications of workplace accidents based on type, consequences, severity, causes, preventability, resulting impacts, location of occurrence, site of injury, and the victim's age. Furthermore, the article explores the personal and environmental variables within the work environment that are associated with accident occurrence. Finally, it concludes by discussing the most prominent explanatory theories of workplace accidents.
