This study provides a legal analysis of the duty to provide information and consumer protection in e-commerce. The legislature enacted Law No. 18-05 on e-commerce, which enshrines the duty to provide information in order to protect consumers in the digital environment, where they may fall victim to misleading advertising. Thus, the duty to provide information serves as a safeguard for both the consumer and the supplier in the formation of an electronic contract, as it restores balance to the contractual relationship between the consumer — as the weaker party — and the supplier — as the stronger party. Given the importance of the duty to inform in electronic commercial transactions in terms of protecting consumer rights, it is essential to examine the nature and scope of this duty on the one hand, and the methods of electronic information provision for consumer protection on the other.
