The feminist novel raises a series of questions regarding its sources of beauty and its departure from stereotypical writing, which constitutes an active cultural source in Algerian literature—a field dominated by various pillars, including collective memory, customs and traditions, and religious rulings…— serving as one of the mechanisms of narrative discourse that conveys the distinctiveness of Algerian culture and the national spirit that is inextricably linked to it. We therefore pose the following questions: How has the contemporary Algerian feminist novel expressed national cultural identity? And what are the most prominent traditional representations that dominate contemporary feminist discourse?
