Algeria is among the countries that faced foreign colonialism, and it achieved independence through a historic revolution that helped end colonization. As a result, Algeria implemented comprehensive reforms in many sectors, especially development. Since gaining independence, the government has consistently worked to lay a foundation for progress based on democracy, good governance, and the rule of law. The topic of political reforms in Algeria has garnered significant attention from researchers, with increasing focus on development issues after independence. Therefore, in this study, we examine the various stages of democratic change that the Algerian state went through after independence, emphasizing its development from independence to 2020.
