Abstract

This research provides an extensive critical examination of Lebanese humanities, tracing the intersection of Arabic Enlightenment (Al-Nahda), Francophone literary hybridity, and post-war memory studies in the Levant. By analyzing the foundational contributions of Gibran Kahlil Gibran, Amin Maalouf, and the institutional tradition of the American University of Beirut and Université Saint-Joseph, this study evaluates how Lebanese academic discourse navigates Levantine cosmopolitanism, sectarian constitutionalism, and diaspora intellectual networks. Furthermore, it explores contemporary imperatives in digital Levantine archiving, oral history preservation, and Mediterranean cultural diplomacy in twenty-first-century Lebanon.
